Jewish Homosexual Work Camp Badge “Ost” Insignia – With Pink and Yellow Triangle Motifs

Date: Circa 1941–1944

Location: Nazi concentration and labor camp from Eastern Europe

Medium: Fabric sewn badge and printed text

Collection: Yavneh Klos Collection, Holocaust Archive

This exceptionally rare concentration camp badge combines a pink triangle over a yellow triangle—forming a partial Star of David—and is inscribed with “Ost,” marking the wearer as Jewish, homosexual, and an Eastern forced laborer. The badge identified the individual as among the most persecuted groups under Nazi rule, subject to intensified brutality from both guards and fellow inmates. Artifacts bearing this triple designation are exceedingly scarce and offer critical insight into the intersectional suffering endured under Nazi ideology.
