Nazi Dutch Coins
WWII Dutch Occupation Coins – Designed Under Nazi Authority
Date: 1942–1943
Location: Nazi-occupied Netherlands
Medium: Zinc coinage
Collection: Yavneh Klos Collection, Dutch Occupation Archive
These one, ten, and twenty-five cent coins were minted in
the Netherlands during Nazi occupation and designed by Dutch National Socialist
Nico de Haas. Struck in zinc to conserve metal for the war effort, they
represent a physical manifestation of economic and political control under
occupation. The designs blend traditional Dutch motifs with National Socialist
aesthetics.
